Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of interpretive illustrations on learning Arabic language of junior high school students studying humanities in the third district of Kermanshah. The method was quasi-experimental research because the participants were selected through available sampling procedure. Therefore, the statistical population included all junior high school students studying humanities in Kermanshah, Kermanshah, in the academic year 2014-15. The researcher developed the research tool which was a test based on available literature and with the help of Arabic language professors The content validity of the test was confirmed by experts, and its reliability was determined using a test-retest method on 20 people in the statistical population with 15 days interval and the correlation coefficient was calculated. Data analysis was performed in the form of descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (covariance analysis). Results showed that education based on interpretive illustrations rather than traditional methods significantly improved students’ Arabic language learning.
