Abstract
The study aims to identify the impact of the LEAD strategy on the academic achievement of fifth-grade preparatory students in the Arabic language subject within the Ninawa Education Directorate in Iraq. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a partial control group. The sample consisted of 68 students, divided into two groups: An experimental group taught using the LEAD strategy (30 students). A control group taught using the traditional method (32 students). After excluding 6 students, the researcher prepared an achievement test in Arabic grammar, consisting of 28 items after modifications. The researcher also ensured equivalence between the groups in terms of students' prior Arabic grades, chronological age, and parents' educational attainment. The statistical methods used included: Pearson’s correlation coefficient, Independent samples t-test, Cronbach’s alpha, Spearman’s correlation, Chi-square (χ²), The study results showed that the experimental group (LEAD strategy) outperformed the control group (traditional method).
The first null hypothesis states: "There is no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group (taught using the LEAD strategy) and the mean scores of the control group (taught using the traditional method) in the achievement test."
