Abstract
Translation is considered one the most important subjects in the departments dedicated to teaching languages, due to opportunities it provides for working in the field of oral and written translation. In the Arabic departments there are many book for and taking care of it. These works usually took the prescriptive approach in presenting translation issues and sought to make them a pure science, just like natural science. In this article the researcher studied some famous books in this topic from the standpoint of modern counterparts and with evidence quoted from boos that translated from Arabic to Persian. He concluded that these books contain four problems: the first is an attempt to codify translation and formulate rules and law for it such as those we see in chemistry and physics. The second problem is citing improvised examples that do not belong to a specific context. The third problem is the lack of emphasis of the important on the importance of familiarity with both languages the principle and purpose. The fourth problem is the absence of theoretical issues. Finally, the researcher presented his proposal to reform the translation teaching curriculum in Arabic departments liberate it from classical view of translation.
