Abstract

Attention has been paid to short stories in Arabic language teaching planning. But choosing a short story as a suitable teaching material for teaching the syntactic style of sentences requires precise scientific criteria, but what are those criteria? To answer this question, the researchers determined educational criteria, then selected the short story collection "Thunder" by international author Zakaria Tamer, based on the author's reputation and the use of diverse short stories in the collection to adapt these educational criteria in their. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical method using statistical tools and tables. And this research came to the conclusion that educational criteria are determined in four short story criteria in teaching sentence syntactic styles, And they are: Author's ability. Content of the curriculum. The language of the educational material and its delivery and regulation method. The general form of the educational material and its printed output. Then, these educational criteria and sentence syntactic styles have been adapted with the help of various tables in these two selected short stories to determine their suitability as instruction material for teaching students sentence syntactic styles. this research has achieved results and the most important of these results: The simple news style is the most used compared to other sentence syntactic styles in these two short stories.
