Abstract

Assessing students' needs in learning Arabic is a process through which effective educational factors can be reached to empower them and acquire skills. Applying new methods in education, changing course titles, motivating students to learn, participating in Arabic language courses, professors' ability to teach, laboratory equipment, communicating with Arab countries, spending sufficient time in education, and interest in future professions are among the influential educational factors whose development leads to increasing students' skills. In this regard, this article attempted to study the educational factors that enhance skills through interviews and questionnaires with 15 experts and 120 students of Arabic literature at Al-Khwarizmi University using the descriptive, analytical, and statistical approach based on the Delphi technique for assessing needs. The importance of each factor was evaluated based on a Likert scale (such as 1 to 5). The study results indicate that all educational factors have a significant impact on skill acquisition, but among them, participation in educational courses to empower and acquire students' skills is of the greatest importance. Students' interest in this factor is influenced by other factors, such as lack of equipment and laboratories, inappropriate teaching methods, ineffective course titles, and lack of communication with Arab countries. Of course, by enhancing these factors, students' motivation and confidence in learning increases. By acquiring skills, students are less anxious about their future careers and are accepted by society.
