Abstract

Intellectual skills cannot be separated from an integrated system of educational values that form the foundations for building personality and society. In this context, educational curricula, especially Arabic language textbooks, acquire paramount importance as they are the vessel in which this blend of knowledge and values is instilled. This study focuses on analyzing the educational values and learning objectives in Arabic language textbooks for fifth grade in Libya and seventh grade in Iran, using a content analysis approach. The targeted values were identified through six main categories: social, religious, national, scientific, personal, and environmental values. The results indicate a significant variation in the presentation of values and objectives between the two textbooks. In the Libyan textbook, social values ranked first, indicating a focus on enhancing relationships among individuals. In contrast, the Iranian textbook prominently featured religious values, reflecting the importance of cultural and religious heritage in education. The study also highlighted the necessity of integrating technology and interactive teaching methods to foster critical thinking and creativity among students. This study represents an important step toward improving educational curricula and enhancing educational values in both countries, contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of adapting to the demands of the modern era and facing future challenges.
